Thank You Kickstarter Supporters And Update

We wanted to give our January Kickstarter supporters an update and let them know how important their help actually was last January.  We were at a crossroads and your support helped us head in a new direction that we are proud to tell you about.

We are now the “Rescued Heroes Foundation”.  Our goal has always been to find a way to help fund service dogs after meeting our first group of Veterans with PTSD back in 2012.  But the task of becoming a non-profit at the time seemed pretty unreachable- and with limited funds it seemed very unlikely.  But sometimes it is just a matter of timing and that’s what your support with the January Kickstarter gave us.   Your support and encouragement helped us hang in there working hard on the 2016 calendar just long enough to find the right people to guide us.

Jim Martin is a Marine Veteran that called us back in December 2012 and encouraged us to consider becoming a non-profit. Over the next couple years, he continued to support us through the long process until our paperwork was completed and submitted. Without Jim, we would not be the Rescued Heroes Foundation. And with this new non-profit status that goal of raising service dog funds is closer.

Another huge hurdle was a website. As much as we tried to find a solution, this expense promised to stop us from moving forward. But thankfully with the help of our son Adam and tutorials he put together for us, we were able to finish it together and Lynn and I can actually update it ourselves!  As we were running out of time,  putting a Kickstarter campaign together was another necessity but thanks to the incredible efforts of other son Casey,  he was able to help us bring that together.

So thank you to our Kickstarter supporters in January. Without your help and the timing of some pretty wonderful people in our lives, we are moving forward again.  Our Kickstarter for the calendar printing began yesterday and now as the Rescued Heroes Foundation we can offer “Tax Deductible Rewards” along with other great rewards.  Please look at the new  Rescued Heroes Foundation website and our new “Calendar Project”.  “The Calendar Project” can encourage groups of all sizes to help raise funds for service dogs through the 2016 “Rescued Heroes Veterans Edition” Calendar purchases and continue to raise awareness through these wonderful Veteran’s stories of healing.

Many of you are like old friends, names we recognize from our first Rescued Therapy Dog project, and many of you have sent us words of encouragement over the years. Thank you to these Kickstarter supporters for helping us become the “Rescued Heroes Foundation”!!!
